Breaking out of Finland 2004
When The Rasmus stepped on stage for the first time ten years ago to play a gig at their high school, they never expected that nearly a decade later their records would go platinum, that they would receive Finnish Grammy awards and have a following of tens of thousands of enthusiastic fans! But that is exactly what has happened to them. We did an interview with the band about their dramatic music and breaking out of Finland:
"When we started ten years ago there wasn't much music going on in Finland. There were basically just some artist who were singing in Finish and there were not many bands who got out of Finland. So I think there's been a lot of changes in the last ten years. There's many good bands now that have more courage to try to make it outside of Finland as well."
