Leela James was raised in the 80's. Brought up by her dad, with lots of soul food and listening to Al Green, BB King and Marvin Gaye. We spoke to Leela when she was in Holland, supporting the Black Eyed Peas. In May 2005.

"I started singing when I was very young. Got into music because my teacher told me to go to a studio. I had to record a professional track. It was really excited to hear my own voice."
