Jimmy Eat World was in Amsterdam during their tour through Europe with their new album “Invented”. We spoke them in the “Melkweg” club where they performed later that night. They tell us about the success of “The Middle”, their fans, writing lyrics, their love for Amsterdam, downloading torrents and social media such as MySpace and Twitter.

The first part of the interview with Jimmy Eat World at Lowlands is about the Lowlands festival, it's the second time they play at the festival and they like it. They tell us about touring and doing drugs on tour, they had some bad trips and they write songs songs about drugs.

The second part of the interview with Jimmy Eat World at Lowlands is about how it comes that there are so many different styles on the albums. They think it's boring to just do one type of song. What they like play live the most and they tell some more about their tour. They also tell us what's so weird about the Japanese crowd.

The band Jimmy Eat World played the Amsterdam Paradiso in March 2005. We spoke to Zach and Tom about the long tour schedule and memories about the first gigs in Germany in 1999.

"We still have good memories. We were hanging out there a lot. It's still great to be there. Actually we are going back tomorrow."

In 2001 we had an interview with Rick Burch and Jim Adkins about "Bleed American", Jimmy Eat World's fourth LP. It was recorded with the band's own money because they were between record labels. Hear the story about that and how one of their songs was banned after September 11.
