The Goo Goo Dolls had been playing together for 13 years before they had a hit with 'Iris' in 1998. We had a phone interview with bass player and vocalist Robbie Takac while the band were promoting their double platinum album 'Dizzy Up The Girl' in England.

"We were just a punk band early on and somewhere along the way we learned how to play and write songs and somehow the music climate and what we did matched up. We're pretty lucky."
