Audio-interview with Redd Kross
With some bands, you have a hunch something is wrong. You listen to the music, you read a lot of interesting stories which are really easy to find and it all looks legendary.
Redd Kross exists/ existed for over 28 years, and despite 10 years of literally nothing, the band was working its way up the ladder of Great Successes. When you dive into it, you can see connections with bands like Pearl Jam, Black Flag, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Circle Jerks and Bad Religion. With these names in the back of your head, you can do nothing but wanting to get to know and expect more of the band.
The brothers McDonald put out an EP in 1980 as Red Cross –as it still was called back then- and that was the kick-off of a career. A career which was suddenly ended at the end of the 20th century, when Eddie Kurtzel -just yet part of the band- died after the Hiatus tour. Almost 10 years, nothing was heard of them besides some small-time side projects. Until 2006, when the band suddenly reappeared on the stages.
Listen to this interview with a probably legendary and underestimated band.
