The Welsh guys of Super Furry Animals were in Amsterdam to talk to us about the vibe of their new album 'Hey Venus' and about the large amount of instrument and artists involved on this record.

In this second part of this interview with the Welshmen of SFA, they talk about why outer space is so important for writing a good popsong, together with weather and food, naturally. They also talk about the artwork of their newest album.

In this last part SFA talk about their connection with animation in their artwork and videoclips, why they prefer not to be in a videoclip, and about their Welsh roots.

Gruff from Superfurry Animals talks to us in January, 2004 about their new album Phantom Power. In the interview we asked how The Super Furry Animals keep their sound so fresh:

"It stays fresh because of the fact that we still don't like the same stuff, we're all very much different with our musical taste. May be because we come from a fairly small place we didn't form a band because we shared the same musical taste we formed because we didn't know many musicians!"

If you have an band and people start adding 'post-' to your genre, that makes you interesting. That's usually true, bands that differ from the average one. And in that case they also distinguish themselves in interviews; a kind of positive grumpiness. It comes down to an interesting, good interview. This is not different in the case with the Super Furry Animals.

Gruff from Superfurry Animals tells it like it is in the interview when we asked him about groupies, sex, drugs and beer. Recorded around 1997 in Amsterdam.
